Four of the five offensive line spots seem figured out. This week Dion Dawkins returned from his difficult battle with COVID-19 and looks to get back into game shape by the start of the season. Jon Feliciano seems locked into the left guard spot and veteran Mitch Morse is the center. At right tackle, the Buffalo Bills brought back Darryl Williams on a nice contract after he was a surprise performer throughout the season. However, at right guard, Buffalo still has some questions. It seems that from training camp reports Cody Ford is in the lead for the job but we should not discount Ike Boettger or Jamil Douglas.
We saw both players have an up and down game against the Lions but they both look like feasible options if Buffalo opted to not start Ford. Buffalo ended up with several different offensive line combinations last season and they hope to get their best five on the field. This battle could potentially spill into the last weak of the season because 2-3 players are battling for one spot.
One name many sleep on would be Forrest Lamp. The former second round pick has had an injury-riddled career and that followed him into camp where he has missed several practices due to injury. Putting those injuries aside he is more than talented enough to not only compete but win the job. Buffalo has some options and expect a ton of offensive line shuffling against the Bears so the coaching staff can gather some intel on the competition at guard.
