Tommy Sweeney

The Buffalo Bills didn’t get a chance to have Tommy Sweeney on the field as he started the year on the PUP list. He then was moved to the Reserve/COVID-19 list but developed myocarditis and was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

The former seventh round draft pick is back this season and was able to get on the field for the first time in over a year on Friday night against the Detroit Lions. He played well and finished the game with two receptions for 34 yards.

The third tight end spot is up for grabs and Sweeney is competing with players like Reggie Gilliam and Quintin Morris. This was a good start but it appears Sweeney suffered an injury against the Detroit Lions that had him in a walking boot over the weekend.

Hopefully, the injury isn’t too severe and Tommy Sweeney will be able to get back before the end of the preseason to continue competing for one of those final roster spots.
