Sean McDermott
The Pro Football Hall of Fame isn’t just players and the Buffalo Bills are in the position they are in due in large part to their head coach. Sean McDermott joined the Buffalo Bills in 2017 and in his first season with the team ended their playoff drought.
After a down year in 2018, it has only been an upward trajectory for this team with 10 wins and a playoff appearance in 2019 and another double-digit win season last year with an AFC East division title and a trip to the AFC Championship Game.
He currently has a win-loss record as a head coach of 38-26 and those 38 wins already are the third-highest total for head coaches in franchise history. McDermott has already earned a contract extension, which he received last season, and runs through the 2025 season. If he continues to have a close to .600 win percentage, he very easily will be second in wins by the end of his current contract.
However, for head coaches Super Bowl wins are critical for their chance to make it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. If Sean McDermott can lead the Buffalo Bills to a Super Bowl win in the coming years, he will be in a great position to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the end of his career.
