Darryl Johnson

The final draft pick by Brandon Beane on this list who could be on the roster bubble is defensive end Darryl Johnson. He was a seventh round pick by the Bills in the 2019 NFL Draft and over the past two seasons has been a key part of the special teams unit.

However, he hasn’t contributed much on the defensive side of the ball and the Bills have a number of new pass rushers this season. They added Greg Rousseau and Carlos Basham Jr. in the 2021 NFL Draft and signed free agent Efe Obada with all three off to fast starts in training camp.

When taking into account these three players, along with veterans Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison and last year’s second round pick A.J. Epenesa, there may not be any room on the Buffalo Bills roster for a player like Johnson who is primarily limited to special teams.
