Micah Hyde/Jordan Poyer
The next two players are the Buffalo Bills starting safeties, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. These two are entering their fifth season with the team after joining the Bills as free agents in 2017.
Since joining the team, they have emerged as one of the better duos in the NFL and more important one of the more durable. The two players combined have only missed three games over the past four seasons.
Similar to Josh Allen, these two players know this scheme well and also know the players they are playing with. This will be the fifth season with Tre’Davious White, fourth season with Levi Wallace and Taron Johnson.
Another reason though that the coaching staff would be wise to keep these two players out of the preseason is that there is some uncertainty behind them on the depth chart. They have younger, unproven players like Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin that could be a concern if they are needed to play an extended period of time.
