1. Jerry Hughes

While the Buffalo Bills have added a number of pass rushers over the years, the player most likely to lead the team in sacks this year is the one who has been with the team the longest: Jerry Hughes.

The veteran defensive end hasn’t put up big sack totals during the regular season (he has had five or fewer in four of the last six seasons) but there have been positive signs that could point to Hughes having one big season left in his career.

The first is that while he has had only 16 sacks over the past three years, he has been able to get pressure on the quarterback with 81 pressures over that span. The other positive is that he has shown during the playoffs he can still close and bring the quarterback down with six sacks in the last four playoff games.

At this point in his career, Jerry Hughes can’t do it alone but considering the depth the Bills have along the entire defensive line, this could make the veteran’s job a little easier and in turn those sack totals should rise in 2021.
