Cole Beasley has vitriolic words for NFLPA
Cole Beasley has continued to speak his mind about the COVID-19 policies and the NFLPA.
With the help of Twitter, every NFL athlete has a huge platform with tons of followers. Once the new COVID-19 protocols came out for unvaccinated players, it wasn’t going to take long until we heard something from Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley.
One of the most vocal players, Beasley went on a firestorm rant that blasted the NFLPA and continued to voice his displeasure about the new list. With how much he’s said about it, it makes me wonder if he may consider holding out. Or in the extreme case, would Beasley retire?
The only reason I bring this up is that he actually walked away from training camp with the Dallas Cowboys as he was fighting for a roster spot as he was an undrafted free agent out of SMU. It remains to be seen what Beasley will do with this new set of rules.
One would expect Beasley to stay with his beliefs, but will the list slowly wear him down and maybe change his mind? There’s also the fact of what his current Buffalo Bills teammates think. Nobody wants to miss game time for any reason. Josh Allen has taken his time to make his decision and Jordan Poyer won’t take any questions on it at all.
Would there be any division in the locker room if Beasley, Allen, or Poyer gets exposed and misses an important game- especially if it’s any time in the postseason? Any games missed would be crushing to see for a Buffalo Bills team that’s as close to its first-ever Super Bowl Championship as it’s ever been.
Stay tuned on what happens over the next few months until training camp begins, as this is one topic to surely monitor going into the 2021 season.
