Buffalo Bills Scorigami

Lucky number 7 Scorigami goes in favor of Bills in 1998

Unfortunately, there were no pictures of this game, so this did not happen in the snow. However, the Buffalo Bills marched into the Superdome and had themselves another high-scoring game. Buffalo built a 28 point lead on touchdowns from Antowain Smith, Eric Moulds, and  Rob Johnson. Moulds would break Andre Reed’s team record for most receiving yards in a season in this game.

The Mike Ditka-led Saints added two short touchdowns to get the gap down to 28-14, but that’s the closest they’d come until the game ended with

the weird score of 45-33,

hence the beauty that is Scorigami. There’s more to this game that would’ve derailed the score, just take a look at the video recap below.

The Saints achieved the feat by failing (ironic, isn’t it?) to convert on both their two-point tries of the game. Had they made both attempts, it would’ve given them a 45-37 score, and disqualified the Scorigami as that had been

done twice before

. If the Saints only hit on one, then a 45-35 wouldn’t have qualified either.

There’s also another all-time name that saw action in this game. Pooh Bear Williams (birth name Clarence Williams) had 2 carries for 5 yards for the Bills. In fact, his first season in 1998 would be his only season in the NFL, and those were the only yards he gained in the three games he played.

Bills record so far: 3-3-1
