Safety (4)
Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Damar Hamlin, Jaquan Johnson
There isn’t going to be any change at the safety position in terms of starters as Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde are set to return to their starting roles for the fifth straight year. These two players complement each other very well and have developed into one of the best safety duos in the NFL.
The changes for this position will be who backs them up and in particular who is the primary backup. This was a role that Dean Marlowe has played but with him leaving in free agency, it will likely come down to Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin, who was selected in the sixth round this year.
Specialists (3)
Tyler Bass, Matt Haack, Reid Ferguson
The Buffalo Bills did make one big change among the special teams’ specialists and that was deciding to not re-sign Corey Bojorquez. The team instead elected to sign free agent Matt Haack, who previously was with the Miami Dolphins, to a three-year deal.
Joining Haack will be Tyler Bass, who will be entering his second season as the team’s placekicker, and long snapper Reid Ferguson, who is one of the best in the NFL.
