Xavier Rhodes

The cornerback position is tricky because the Buffalo Bills seem committed to giving Dane Jackson every opportunity to win the starting job. So while there are younger options available like Adoree Jackson or Kyler Fuller, a veteran on a short-term deal to compete with Jackson might make more sense for this team.

That’s why a player like Xavier Rhodes could be a good fit for what the Buffalo Bills would be looking for. The veteran cornerback had a bounce-back year last season in his first season with the Indianapolis Colts after playing his first seven years with the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Pro Football Reference, this past season Rhodes allowed a QB rating of 84.3 which was nearly a 40 point drop from 2019 when quarterbacks had a rating of 123.8 when they threw in his direction. The completion percentage also dropped from 81.5% in 2019 to only 51.9% last season.

Even if Rhodes wasn’t able to win the starting job, having him on the team would be a tremendous boost to the depth at the position and really help solidify the position.
