The third prospect on this list is wide receiver, Cornell Powell. Powell as an interesting journey to stardom as a Tiger after being a late bloomer in 2020. It took him until his fifth year of eligibility to break out onto the scene at Clemson, but to be fair to him there has been a lot of talent at wide receiver for the Tigers in the last five years.

At about 6 feet tall and 210 pounds, Powell has the ideal size to be a threat on the outside at the next level. More than just his size, he has the subtle nuances to his game like route savvy and a vast release package to get off the line of scrimmage cleanly to begin his route. In 2020, Powell recorded 882 receiving yards and scored 7 touchdowns on 53 recpetions. These numbers and his tape tells me that he could be a viable deep threat at the next level.

With the recent release of John Brown from the Buffalo Bills, there is a need for depth at wide receiver behind Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, and Gabriel Davis. More specifically without John Brown, there is a need for a deep threat and perhaps Powell could help fill that role for the Buffalo Bills in 2021.

The main concern for Powell is the uncertainty regarding his lack of playing time in his first four years at Clemson. It is for this reason that Powell will likely slide into the third or maybe even the fourth round of the draft. With other pressing needs and the jury still out on how much Isaiah Hodgins will contribute in 2021, it would probably be smarter for the Bills to pass on Powell in round three. However, as it stands the Bills do not have a fourth round pick, so if they really like Powell they may try to acquire a fourth rounder one way or another come late April.
