Tyler Kroft

Another veteran who saw his playing time greatly reduced the second half of this season was tight end Tyler Kroft. He joined the Bills as a free agent during the 2019 offseason and at the time was thought to be the starting tight end for this offense.

However, the Bills drafted Dawson Knox in the third round in the NFL Draft that year and Kroft suffered a foot injury that forced him to miss the start of the year. By the time he was able to return, Knox was the clear starter and Kroft didn’t make much of an impact.

This year, Kroft had a chance to play more with Knox dealing with injuries early in the season and had a two touchdown game against the Los Angeles Rams. However, the coaching staff went with Knox as their starter once he was healthy and Kroft was a healthy scratch for most games after the bye.

At the end of the season press conference, Brandon Beane mentioned the tight end position and it sounded like the Buffalo Bills will be looking for an upgrade this offseason.
