Matt Milano

Entering this season, linebacker Matt Milano was expected to be the Buffalo Bills’ top free agent. He had a breakout season in 2019 and was entering his contract year. However, this season hasn’t gone as planned as he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 that forced him to miss the next game.

He would return but then suffer a pec injury that would force him to miss Weeks 5 and Week 6 before playing a limited role in the next two games. The injury wasn’t improving and the starting linebacker ended up on the injured reserve.

He returned in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers but the coaching staff wants to slowly work him back into the game. While he hasn’t been able to play much this year, the Buffalo Bills would surely like to have Milano back because of how dynamic he is, especially defending the pass.

The question is can the team come to an agreement on a new contract that Milano would agree to but also take into account the injury history and is something that can work within the cap space.
