Josh Allen restarts his MVP campaign

During the first four weeks of the season, Josh Allen was playing as well as anyone in the NFL. While it was early in the season, he looked to be a favorite for the MVP award.

The chatter quieted as Allen wasn’t producing the same numbers and saw his turnovers start to creep back up as an issue. However, this week against the San Francisco 49ers in front of a national audience, he restarts his MVP campaign.

This certainly isn’t going to be easy as the 49ers have an excellent defense but there is one thing that Allen has that can make it a little easier for him this week. One area this defense has struggled with is stopping mobile quarterbacks and four times this year they have allowed at least 40 rushing yards or a rushing touchdown to quarterbacks.

The reason that Allen could really have a big game on the ground is the quarterbacks that been able to beat this defense rushing includes players like Daniel Jones and Carson Wentz. The threat of Josh Allen running, should create more room in the passing game and allow the Bills’ quarterback to control the flow of the game.

If Josh Allen hopes to be the first Buffalo Bills player to win MVP since Thurman Thomas in 1991, this will be the week he needs to make a statement and I believe he will.
