Buffalo Bills Defensive Ends

The Buffalo Bills elected to go primarily with a three-man rotation at defensive end with Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy, and Mario Addison seeing a majority of the snaps. These three combined for seven tackle and two sacks, which were credited to Trent Murphy and Mario Addison.

For most of the game, Sam Darnold was uncomfortable in the pocket as he didn’t have time to set his feet and was regularly throwing errant passes. This was due in large part to the pass rush by these three players.

Buffalo Bills Defensive Tackle

There were some changes at the defensive tackle position prior to game time as Vernon Butler was listed as inactive and Quinton Jefferson got the start. However, Justin Zimmer who was called up from the practice squad on Saturday saw snaps along with Harrison Phillips and Ed Oliver.

These four players combined for eight total tackles and were a big part of shutting the Jets rushing attack down. The Jets finished with only 52 rushing yards and averaged only 3.5 yards per carry.
