Ike Boettger

Another surprise for the Buffalo Bills was the release of Evan Boehm, and what was likely the subsequent move of keeping Ike Boettger. The Bills signed Boettger as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and after a brief period with the Kansas City Chiefs returned to the Bills practice squad.

He has appeared in six games over the past two seasons but played only 130 total snaps, 54 of which came in Week 17 against the New York Jets when the team was resting their starters.

The reason the release of Evan Boehm was surprising is that the team doesn’t have a clear back up to Mitch Morse. This could become an issue considering Morse does have a bit of an injury history.

Boettger, along with Ryan Bates, could be that answer at the backup center position but it will be interesting to see who is listed there when the Buffalo Bills release their depth chart.
