Duke Williams making strong case to earn roster spot

The position battle at wide receiver was going to be one of the toughest because of the talent the Buffalo Bills have at the position. The Bills still have John Brown and Cole Beasley, the team’s top two receivers from last year, who is now joined by Diggs at the top of the depth chart.

The Bills then added two wide receivers in the NFL Draft with Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins, two rookies who have played very well so far in camp.

This potentially only leaves one roster spot for that final wide receiver that could come down to Andre Roberts, Isaiah McKenzie and Duke Williams. There could be room for two to keep Roberts as the primary return man and add another true wide receiver to have six experienced pass catchers.

If that is the case, Duke Williams chances of making the roster truly sky rocket. The Bills added Williams last offseason after he had a really good performance in the CFL and he was the only receiver that had size at the position last year.

The team wouldn’t need to keep him just for his size this year but Williams continues to make highlight catches that could help justify his place on the roster.

The Buffalo Bills front office and coaching staff is really going to have a tough time trimming down the roster at this position over the next few weeks.
