Gregory Rousseau

The final player on this list is defensive end Gregory Rousseau, previously with the University of Miami, who opted-out and will begin preparation for the 2021 NFL Draft.

The defensive end position is one that could see a great deal of change next offseason for the Buffalo Bills. Even with the Bills using their second round pick on A.J. Epenesa, this is an aging position group with Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison over 30 years of age.

Both of these players could be entering their final year with the Bills as the team could cut both with minimal deal cap. In addition, Trent Murphy is entering the final year of his contract so the team could be in a position where their top three defensive ends are no longer with the team next year.

This is one of the reasons a player like Gregory Rousseau makes sense as he is a big defensive end at 6’7″ and 265 pounds but is explosive and can get after the quarterback. In his one full season with the Canes, he finished 15.5 sacks.

One of the reasons the Buffalo Bills would likely be interested is the versatility he brings at 6’7″ as he could add some weight and potentially move inside to defensive tackle, similar to what is expected from A.J. Epenesa, on passing downs.

If the Buffalo Bills were to add Rousseau, it would give this defense two young pass rushers that could be long term answers to the position.
