Caleb Farley

One of the first players to announce he was opting out was Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley. It would also make sense that Farley would be near the top of the Buffalo Bills draft board because the cornerback position is still a point of concern for this team.

This offseason the Buffalo Bills tried to address the starting job opposite Tre’Davious White with Josh Norman and E.J. Gaines, two players who were expected to compete with Levi Wallace. However, Gaines has opted out of the upcoming season due to concerns about the pandemic.

This will leave Josh Norman but he isn’t a long term answer to the position.

A player Caleb Farley could not only be that answer but also step in as the top cornerback in this defense if the Bills are not able to work out a long term deal with White, who will be a free agent after the 2021 season.

He is a big cornerback at 6’2″ and 197 pounds but durability could be a concern for some teams. He suffered a torn ACL his freshman season in 2017 and then missed the last two games this past season and had offseason surgery.

If Farley is able to pass the medical tests, he has great upside that could make him a first round target for the Buffalo Bills.
