The Green Bay Packers seemingly have always been in discussion as one of the top teams in the NFC and a Super Bowl contender. However, this year feels different as they have changed their formula for success.

It has not been an easy road for the Packers to start the year and they have a road win over the Chicago Bears to go along with home wins over the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos. The level of competition certainly helps bump them up these power rankings.

The Packers invested heavily in their defense and the early returns have been positive. They currently rank second in the league in points allowed at just 11.7 and tied for third with 12 sacks.

A defense like this, combined with a veteran quarterback like Aaron Rodgers, makes this Packers team one of the top teams in the NFC.
