Buffalo Bills: Position Grades from Week 1 win
Quarterback
After an up and down performance through the preseason, this is exactly what Josh Allen gave over the course of four quarters against the New York Jets. It started off rough for the second year quarterback as he had four turnovers on the Bills first six drives, even though some turnovers were a result of bad luck.
However, Josh Allen looked like a different quarterback in the fourth quarter and one that was in command of this offense. He led the Bills on two scoring drives, both over 80 yards, that finished with him running in for a touchdown and then throwing a 38-yard strike to John Brown.
He finished the game with 254 passing yards, 38 rushing yards, two total touchdowns and four turnovers.
As the quarterback, it is his responsibility to protect the football and while they weren’t all his fault, he does take a hit in his grade. However, the late game heroics certainly helps bring that score back up.
