Darryl Johnson continues to impress

When NFL teams draft players in the later rounds of the NFL Draft, it is usually not expected for them to make an immediate impact transitioning to the NFL. However, Darryl Johnson is trying to be the exception to that rule.

The former North Carolina A&T defensive end has now had consecutive games with a sack after registering a strip sack on Taylor Heinicke on the Panthers’ final drive. The fumble was recovered by the Panthers though.

The depth at defensive end is really starting to come into focus with the improved play of Trent Murphy, who also had a sack, to go along with Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson. However, if Johnson continues to play like this, he could make a case for being the next defensive end in that rotation.
