Andre Roberts

Andre Roberts is usually the forgotten wide receiver free agent the Bills signed this offseason behind John Brown and Cole Beasley. He wasn’t considered to be much more than a return man, which isn’t a negative as he is one of the better returners in the NFL.

This training camp though, Roberts has opened plenty of eyes and he could be carving a role for himself in this offense. The way he has practiced this summer has gotten him a fan in the form of Josh Allen. He recently said about Roberts:

"“To have that kind of explosiveness on special teams is awesome, but he comes out here and puts his hard hat on every day ready to work,” said Allen. “He communicates very well. He’s locked in during our meetings. He’s been in the league for a while and knows how a pro is supposed to do it and has been a good example for some of our younger guys. But he comes out and he’s been developing as a wide receiver for us. He runs some crisp routes and has been catching the ball and has the same explosiveness that we see from him on special teams.”"

Similar to some of the other players in this article, it will be important for Roberts to replicate what he has done in practice during a game. The fact that the starters will likely be limited, this should give Roberts more time to show what he is capable of as a receiver.
