Instead of practicing, the Buffalo Bills have opted for a team bonding day, confirming we won’t see the team back until training camp.

On Thursday, the Buffalo Bills joined a slew of teams swapping off-season practice for team bonding activities. Instead of playing out the last day of mandatory minicamp, the team will be looking to build chemistry. The Bills will join the New England Patriots, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers as squads to opt out of practice for team bonding.

Ending mandatory minicamps for team bonding activities isn’t a new trend. NFL teams value their chemistry on the field, and until training camp starts, it may be more beneficial for veterans instead of walking through without pads on. Considering that Buffalo isn’t dealing with the prettiest weather at the moment, the Bills have another good reason to swap practice for team bonding.

It’s unknown exactly what the Bills will be doing instead of practice. Other teams have been enjoying barbecues, and friendly competitions — sounds like summer camp. However, it is known when the Bills will be on the field: July 26th, for training camp at St. John Fisher College. Until then, we’ll have to stick to Youtube highlights of Josh Allen to see some beautiful deep balls.

The Bills have dealt with an extensive injury report during OTAs and mandatory minicamp, most notably a setback to Tyler Kroft‘s return. But the team hasn’t dealt with any no shows; hopefully by the time training camp starts, the same can be said.
