Kyler Fackrell, Utah State

Height: 6’5″

Weight: 244 lbs

Projected Round: 2 or 3

Kyler Fackrell played outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme for Utah State during his college career. He is a considered a diverse player who is sort of a “jack of all trades”.

Fackrell is tall and long. He has worked hard to add muscle to his lengthy frame. He has great lateral quickness and is an active rusher with a quick read on the plays.

His 5 fumble recoveries in 2015 led the nation and he also holds the school record for QB hurries with 12. Fackrell does well in coverage which is important since NFL team’s throw more often than teams do in college. He also has displayed good ball skills on top of his coverage skills. He played special teams at Utah State which is always a quality that NFL teams look for in potential prospects.

Fackrell has been described with many adjectives including humble, hardworking, feisty and competitive. He is a true professional and an absolute student of the game.

Some of his weaknesses include his lean body type which prevents him from being as powerful as someone of his size should be. He is also older than most other prospects as he will be 25 before the end of his rookie season. Teams are also concerned about his health because in 2014, Fackrell suffered an ACL injury which ended his junior season. That injury paired with his lean body type is not a good combination and could scare off teams.

He plays a bit upright and can get knocked off-balance due to his upright nature. He also has some over aggressive tendencies but because he is a cerebral player who studies the game those tendencies should iron themselves out over time.
