For the Bills, the playoffs is just a dream as it has been for the past 13 years. Yes it can be frustrating and it is frustrating year after year to see a losing team and the best being a .500 record in some cases. For other teams though there is still hope to make the playoffs.

For the AFC teams, the playoffs have been decided. Everyone has clinched and is in there is no one else still in the hunt. For the NFC however, today is a day that teams will be watching other games and hoping for some help. The teams that still have wildcard shots are the Bears, Cowboys, VIkings and the Giants.

For the Bears 2 options are possible, the need a Win + a Minnesota Loss or tie. The second is a Chi Tie and a Min loss. For the Cowboys it is simple…WIN. With a win they will clinch the Cowboys will clinch the NFC East. They play the Redskins this week. For the Giants it is a little more complicated and there is only one scenario, the Giants must win and look for a Dallas loss or tie as well as a Chicago loss and a Minnesota Loss. The VIkings are the final team that has a shot at the playoff berth. They have three scenarios that they can move on with. The first is a win from them. The second is a Viking tie and a Chi loss or tie. The third is a Dal loss or tie, NYG loss or tie, and a Chi loss

With a loss last week the Bills have all but sealed their deal to make the playoffs as in it won’t happen. The sad part at this point is that they are still mathematically in contention for a playoff spot but need a lot of help. For this to happen, the Bills need help from three teams. Two of the teams are the same from last week. Both Pittsburgh and the Bengals lost which is what Buffalo needed. Buffalo, right now, needs the Bengals to finish 8-8, only winning one of their last 3 games which include Philly, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore. The Steelers cannot win a game. They need to lose out. The rest of their season looks like Dallas, Bengals, and Cleveland. The other team is the Chargers. The Chargers have to only lose one of their last three games. The rest of their schedule is as follows; Carolina, Jets, Oakland. The only tough obstacle here is the Steelers losing out. Although, it is still possible for the Bills to make the playoffs at 8-8, the likelihood is that it probably won’t happen, but at this point there is still a small glimmer of hope. So, teams to look at this week are the Bengals to lose to Philly, The Steelers to lose to Dallas, and the Chargers to lose to Carolina. A Bengals loss and Chargers loss will only leave one team in the way for the Bills, that being the Steelers. This is of course if they win out.
