The Buffalo Bills drafted Zay Jones after trading up in the second round. On Wednesday, Jones left a special video message for Bills’ fans.

The Buffalo Bills had a glaring need at wide receiver heading into the 2017 NFL Draft. With the 10th pick, they had several options to choose from, but ultimately traded back for a cornerback and drafted Zay Jones in the second round.

For the Bills, grabbing Jones in the second was a steal. He proved to be the G.O.A.T. with the East Carolina Pirates, breaking records left and right. He will now reunite with the receivers coach that made it happen, Phil McGeoghan, who is now the receivers coach for the Buffalo Bills.

On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills‘ official Twitter account posted a video of Zay Jones with a message to his new fans in #BillsMafia.

Here’s the video:

Who wouldn’t be happy to join the Buffalo Bills? It’s well-known that this city has the greatest fanbase in all of football — as well as hockey. The experience that Bills’ fans provide at New Era Field for the players — yes, players do appreciate that — is second to none.

Not to mention, the Bills are beginning a new era with a new head coach, entirely new coaching staff (S/O to Danny Crossman), new GM, new scouting staff, new schemes, new locker room.

Basically, Zay Jones has the perfect opportunity to come into Buffalo and establish himself as a staple for this offense for years to come. And even more than a staple, a leader on this team.

How can he do that? Well, this video is a start. In Buffalo, it’s very important for players to keep a good standing with the fans. Take Aaron Williams for example, who will be greatly missed and could be re-united with Doug Marrone this offseason.

Williams was very active in the community and was always seen with fans — hence why he always received love through the good games and bad. He was also the player that got shown the most love when it was announced he wouldn’t return. I mean, even I had to get a Williams’ jersey this year even though I knew he wouldn’t be returning.

So far, Jones has been active on Twitter connecting with the fans — the easiest way to do it and something Aaron Williams found a lot of success in. Here’s a couple of tweets that need to be seen by every Buffalo Bills‘ fan:

The next thing he needs to do is capture the respect of the locker room and coaching staff. For a young player, this can be quite easy while they are still humble and new to the program. For Jones, this should be easy. Especially considering one of his college coaches will be there to keep him in line.

Just seeing the look on his face after getting drafted, you can tell this is a kid that won’t take any of it for granted. Take a look above at the tweet that stated “Buffalo you will get everything I have.” That statement should speak volumes to a locker room.

Lastly, Jones will need to bring his talent to the field and show this team — and city — what he can do. We saw what he can do in college, which was nothing short of being THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

Looking at the numbers, he finished his college career (four years) with 399 catches, 4,279 yards, 10.7 average and 23 touchdowns. Last season, he was easily the best wide receiver in all of football with 158 catches and 1,746 yards. He added 8 touchdowns.

If he could just do half of that this season for Buffalo, he would have a better season than any Buffalo Bills‘ receiver did last year — literally.

The stage will be bigger, the defenders will be tougher and the pressure will be higher than ever, but I firmly believe Zay Jones is up for the challenge.

Here’s a cool little video that was tweeted by the Buffalo Bills recently. It should get you fired up for this season:

Good luck this season, Zay Jones. The best is ahead of you, and you have all of #BillsMafia behind you.
