It was a productive day for the Buffalo Bills’ offense and defense, so who were this week’s top fantasy football performers for the Bills?

For those of you that didn’t get a chance to watch the Buffalo Bills defeat the Arizona Cardinals in a 33-18 home victory, you missed our first real look at what this team can do. The results were positive, although there are still a few things we need to work on.

One thing was certain and that was our running game, which looked a lot like it did last season. However, we had to sacrifice our passing game — which is still one of those things that need to be worked on.

All in all, the Buffalo Bills saw a much more productive day when it comes to fantasy numbers and owners had a lot to be happy about.

In their Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets, the Bills’ top three fantasy football performers were as follows:

Tyrod Taylor: 23 points

Marquise Goodwin: 17 points

Greg Salas: 14 points

We saw great production from the passing game in Week 2, which wasn’t the case at all vs. the Cardinals. With Sammy Watkins on the sideline, it was pretty much expected that our passing game would be left with a hole.

Good news is the Bills found a way to work around the fact that Watkins couldn’t play. Here’s a look at the top 3 fantasy football performers for the Buffalo Bills this week.

Let’s start with the 3rd best performance, which came from our starting quarterback:

Following a 23-point performance vs. the NY Jets — which included 297 yards, 3 TD and just one INT through the air — Tyrod Taylor struggled with the passing game mightily vs. the Cardinals. He finished with just 119 passing yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Luckily, Taylor found his groove in the running game, finishing with 76 yards rushing on 9 carries and one touchdown that came from 20-yards out. His rushing performance brought him 13 of his 15 points. If he can find his groove in the passing game as well, he can be a very dangerous QB to face in fantasy football.. Buffalo Bills' QB. . Tyrod Taylor. 15

The 2nd best fantasy performance for Week 3 came from the team’s defense/special teams:

21. For the first three quarters of their game vs. the Cardinals, the Bills did a great job of limiting Arizona’s scoring and keeping their top weapons out of the game — then the 4th quarter came. In the final quarter, the Bills’ defense did what they did all game, just with even more intensity. They only allowed two touchdowns and one field goal on defense, with their final two points coming from a safety — totaling 18 points allowed by the Bills. The majority of their fantasy points came from the 4 interceptions they got in the final quarter, as well as a fumble recovery TD by Aaron Williams. For a defense that only had 10 points combined coming into Week 3, they bumped that number up to 31 after Week 3.. Buffalo Bills. . Defense/Special Teams

Now, for the man of the match — our running back.

. LeSean McCoy. 23. In LeSean McCoy’s first season with the Bills last year, he finished with 3 touchdowns through 12 games. Fast forward to now, three weeks into the 2016 season and McCoy has already tied that total. McCoy had a field day against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday and finished with 110 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries — totaling 23 points coming from the ground. He had a chance to add to that number as he had four receptions in the game as well. Unfortunately, he only accrued 6 yards on those four catches. McCoy can be a big asset to the Bills’ passing attack, but as of right now no one can get this passing game going. If they can add that to their offensive arsenal, McCoy will have even more fantasy value.. Buffalo Bills RB

There  you have it, your top three Week 3 fantasy football performers from the Buffalo Bills.

An efficient run-heavy offense and a defense that forced 5 turnovers were the story in this one.

The Buffalo Bills will be traveling to New England as they prepare for their first look at our biggest rival — the Patriots. While speculation continues to grow on who the Patriots will have at quarterback, the Bills need to strengthen their passing attack and take advantage of New England’s injury/suspension situation at QB.

The game starts at 1 PM on Sunday.

Be ready.
