Buffalo Bills WR Greg Salas didn’t get a chance to play until late in the season, but took advantage of that time given. This season, he’s ready to turn it up a notch.

Many Bills’ fans might have forgotten about Bills WR Greg Salas, who wasn’t really seen that much last year. However, he proved himself worthy of another shot after a late-season push.

More from Buffalo Bills News

He only suited up in 2 games with the Bills last season, the final two weeks of the regular season. In Week 16, he wasn’t used. Given time in Week 17, where he was targeted five times, he caught three passes for 41 yards. One of those receptions totaled 20 yards.

Despite the fact many people don’t know who Salas is, he’s actually been in the league for  five years — although he didn’t play at all in 2012. He began his career with the then-St. Louis Rams, who drafted him in the fourth round of the 2011 draft.

After missing the 2012 season, he played for the Bills’ rival New York Jets for the next two years before going through a couple team changes. He finally ended up with the Bills last season.

Since that final game of last season, Salas has been making major improvements on both his game and his life outside of football. He first started to turn heads at the Bills’ mini-camp a couple months ago. He showed promise in a group of young receivers and will surely be a nice addition for Tyrod Taylor.

Off the field, he recently just married his high school sweetheart, Dominique Reeuwijk, in Kahala. Salas graduated from the University of Hawaii, where he was the school’s single-season receiving yards record-holder.

Now, Salas is happy to be in line for another chance at an NFL career. In a recent interview with KHON2, Salas stated:

"“Getting the opportunity with the Bills last season to finish on a strong note, that was big for me and I took that, carried that into the off-season and I’m looking to carry it into this season as well. Just excited for this new season and excited to get back into football in a couple of weeks.”"

Salas is even using the newest app, Pokemon Go, to sharpen up his catching skills. He added:

"“I was running around catching Pokemon this morning. I even walked my [wife] and mother-in-law’s hill a couple of times looking for some Pokemon, so I’m ready to go. Training camp is going to be a breeze.”"

The Buffalo Bills start training camp on July 30th.
