Games to Watch: Week 12

The Bills can help themselves mightily in the play off picture this week with a win over the Chiefs, but they can also get some help from around the league. Here are the games Bills fans should be watching concerning the AFC wild card race.

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets – The Jets are one of four 5-5 teams in the AFC, but they have been on the decline recently, losing four of their last five games. Miami started slow but has began to pick it up, though they don’t look like a play off team sitting at 4-6. Buffalo already has won two games against the Dolphins and one against the Jets. This game is a toss up, both teams are very inconsistent. A win for the Dolphins would help out the bills in the play off race.

New Orleans Saints @ Houston Texans – The Texans have won three in a row including one in Cincinnati against the previously undefeated Bengals. J.J. Watt is playing at an MVP level, and this defense has lead the team that has had to start T.J. Yates at quarterback lately.

The Texans also sit at 5-5, not just chasing the wild card, but also the worst division in football, currently led by the Colts. Houston travels to Buffalo next week in what could be another huge game for the Bills. If Watt can get to Drew Brees Houston will win this one. For the sake of the Bills we should be rooting for the Saints.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Indianapolis Colts – Another mediocre 5-5 team that has been very inconsistent this year. The Colts have already lost to the Bills, but they currently lead their division. No matter who wins the AFC South, the more AFC losses the better. Expect the Colts to win this game at home, but a loss would help the Bills.

Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans – The Raiders have now lost three in a row after starting the year 4-3. The team now sits at 4-6 and in a slump. They will travel all the way to Nashville this week to face Marcus Mariota in a game they should win. However; a loss makes it very hard for Oakland to climb back in to the wild card, so root for the Titans.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Seattle Seahawks – Though it seems almost certain the Steelers will get a wild card spot, the key is getting the 1st wild card spot. The team who gets that will play the winner of the terrible AFC South. The Steelers will be without Big Ben again, and any game in Seattle is tough. The Seahawks should easily win, which would drop the Steelers to 6-5.
