With the Buffalo Bills’ training camp getting underway Friday, it’s time to finish up the Breaking Down the Quarterbacks series with the third and final contender – Tyrod Taylor.

Compared to EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel, Taylor is the biggest question mark.

Considering the former Baltimore Ravens backup has spent each one of his four years in the league behind Joe Flacco, there aren’t many people around the NFL that know what Taylor truly brings to the table. This is what makes him such an interesting and intriguing candidate.

After an impressive minicamp, Taylor has put himself in good standing heading into training camp. And according to former Ravens safety Terrance Brooks, Taylor has the tools to start in this league:

"“He was definitely a guy who could’ve been a starter. But he was behind Joe Flacco, a really good guy, too. If we ever needed Tyrod, I was pretty sure he could step up to the job and do it.“No one will really know until they give him a shot. That’s what he’s been working for – for a while – just to get that shot, to show everybody what he can do. What I remember from playing against him in college and the ACC Championship Game is he tore it up. I’m pretty sure he could do the same still.”– Tyler Dunne of The Buffalo News."

What Taylor brings to the equation is his athleticism, speed and a good arm. And with Greg Roman on board as the Bills’ new offensive coordinator, Taylor could play a role similar to what Colin Kaepernick did in San Francisco.

Taylor’s mobility makes him unique and is why he’s an appealing option.

Keep an eye on Taylor as the quarterback battle progresses, because he could be a dark horse to win the job.
