Can Buffalo’s Sammy Watkins be a star in second year?

"The News will examine 10 questions facing the Buffalo Bills leading up to the start of training camp. When the Buffalo Bills moved up from No. 9 overall to No. 4 in the 2014 NFL draft, trading away their 2015 first- and fourth-round picks to take wide receiver Sammy Watkins, they were counting on Watkins being a star. Not a starter. A star.In what was arguably the most receiver-rich draft in NFL history, the Bills mortgaged plenty for the 6-foot-1, 211-pounder from Clemson. It’s too soon to say if General Manager Doug Whaley made the right call. Watkins caught 65 passes for 982 yards and six touchdowns. He had four 100-yard games. He battled through injuries."

CAMP COUNTDOWN: WHO WILL START AT STRONG SAFETY?

"One of the most tightly contested position battles during training camp will be at strong safety. With Da’norris Searcy now a Tennessee Titan, the starting job is anyone’s for the taking. According to head coach Rex Ryan, the competition should go deep into training camp.“I think all those guys, they’ve all had some real positive plays,” Ryan said. “but I still think we got to get better as we go before I’m real comfortable with any guy taking over.”Here’s a look at five contenders for the strong safety job.Bacarri RamboRambo came to the Bills late last season, but made a significant impact. He picked off Aaron Rodgers twice in Buffalo’s Week 15 victory over the Green Bay Packers. WhileAaron Williams was rehabbing this spring, Rambo took first team reps."

Buffalo Bills: Nickell Robey Expects Big Things from New Defense – Tip of the Tower

"Despite the impressive results of the Buffalo Bills defense in 2014 – when they ranked fourth in the NFL in yards and points allowed – a lot of the players are expecting even more success this year. Count Nickell Robey among those looking forward to the upcoming campaign. One of the main reason’s for the 23-year old’s optimism is down to the 3-4 defense being installed by Bills head coach Rex Ryan. In many ways, the new scheme is similar to the one employed in 2013, under former defensive coordinator Mike Pettine."
