Buffalo Bills Circling the Wagons: Rex Ryan Jumps

facebooktwitterreddit

Rex Ryan did a tandem jump yesterday from the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station with the United States Army Golden Knights and seemed to enjoy himself to the point that he was ready to go again.  Why not?  Matt Cassel has moved from the safe bet for quarterback for the Buffalo Bills to being on the bubble for making the team.

Bills coach Rex Ryan touches down in the Falls

"Rex Ryan’s first touchdown as Buffalo Bills coach came from 3,000 yards in the sky.Ryan descended more than 9,000 feet Friday in a tandem skydive with members of the United States Army Golden Knights parachute team at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.“That was awesome,” Ryan told the Associated Press moments after landing. “I’m ready to go again.”"

Matt Cassel on the roster bubble for the Buffalo Bills

"The Buffalo Bills are entering a new era of football in the 2015 season, and are expected to make a push towards the playoffs. Rex Ryan was brought in as the new head coach to replace Doug Marrone, and both LeSean McCoy and Percy Harvin were signed to bolster the offense as well. Buffalo’s only question was who would end up being the starting quarterback.Matt Cassel was acquired by the Bills from the Minnesota Vikings this past offseason in order to compete for the starting job. There was a time at the beginning of the offseason soon after he was acquired that many expected him to be the front-runner to win the starting job over E.J. Manuel."

NFL 2015 Preview AFC East: Can Patriots Continue Winning, Will Miami Dolphins Compete, Are

"The Buffalo Bills have probably made the biggest trades in their conference this offseason, trading Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy. They also have a new head coach in Rex Ryan and he is focusing on the Bills biggest strength, defense. Leodis McKelvin, Stephon Gilmore, and newly drafted 2nd round cornerback Ronald Darby have helped solidify the secondary but this is largely due to the amount of pressure the Bills generate. Jerry Hughes, Mario Williams, and Marcell Dareus have become a force to be reckoned with in the AFC. The Bills had 54 sacks last season but that was about it. The only thing that kept them in games was their defense."

AFC East Q&A: Who will reach the playoffs?

"Today’s question: Who will win the AFC East and how many teams from the division will make the playoffs?Mike Rodak, Buffalo Bills: I’ll answer the second question first by saying this: I’m buying into the AFC East hype. I think the Bills, Dolphins and Jets are all improved from last season and, despite the Patriots coming off a Super Bowl title, the division is as up for grabs as it has been in the past decade. I can easily see two teams from the AFC East earning playoff berths for the first time since 2010, when Ryan’s Jets marched to the AFC Championship Game."
