Bills camp won’t be first rodeo for Mississippi native Hamilton

"The bio line on Justin Hamilton’s Twitter profile begins with “A Country Boy From Mississippi … ” Yes, this massive nose tackle deep on the Buffalo Bills’ depth chart hails from the Deep South. And back in Natchez, Miss., life was regimented. Hamilton’s family owned a plot of land, a barn, horses and lived for the weekend. That’s when the guy who’s now a 6-foot-1, 315-pound behemoth competed in the rodeo.“I grew up around horses my whole life,” Hamilton said. “It’s just something that’s been with me since I was young. I’m from the country. I’ve lived in the country. I’ve never really lived in town. Having horses and going to rodeos every weekend was a big responsibility."

Bills defense long on talent, short on age

"According to almost anyone who watches football, the Buffalo Bills have one of the most talented starting defenses in the NFL.  According to data complied by Jimmy Kempski ofPhillyVoice.com, they also have one of the youngest.Kempski annually breaks down and publishes the average ages of teams and position groups around the league.  Last week, he compiled the current ages of the projected starters for the front seven and secondary for all teams.  The Bills projected starting secondary of Leodis McKelvin (29), Aaron Williams (25), Stephon Gilmore (24), and Duke Williams (24) averages 25.5 years old, 8th-youngest in the league."

Former TCU DE Jerry Hughes will donate $15000 to Fort Worth North Side football program

"Former TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes will make the first of an annual $15,000 donation to the Fort Worth North Side football program on Thursday, according to Steers coach Joseph Turner.Hughes will be at the school to present the donation and meet with players. He and Turner were teammates at TCU in the late 2000s. The Horned Frogs’ 2009 team, which featured seniors Hughes as an all-American defensive end and Turner as the starting running back, reached the Fiesta Bowl."

Do the Bills have the worst QB situation in the NFL?

"‘Tis the season for rankings. This lull on the football calendar before training camp means the Internet will be scattered with just about every list and ranking you can imagine. Over at The MMQB, Andy Benoit ranked the 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Of course the Buffalo Bills’ competition will continue into August, but they took dead last in this ranking. There’s a lot to like about the Bills’ off-season. What was already one of the league’s best defenses now is now coached by one of the best defensive minds in the game. Sammy Watkins is a year older. LeSean McCoy is an elite running back still in his prime. Charles Clay is one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the game. The offensive guard play will improve."
