Do The Buffalo Bills Have The Greatest Defense Ever

When you think through history and think of the greatest defense ever, which one comes to mind?  For me it is the 1985 Chicago Bears. The ’84 team still holds the sack record standing at 72 as well which is a good goal to have in their sites.

The Buffalo Bills defense seem to think that they might be or could be the greatest defense in NFL history.

Rex Ryan probably has something to do with that as well.  He has confidence pouring out of him and it seems to be contagious where ever he goes and the newly infected are the Buffalo Bills defense, which is never a bad thing I might add.

"“We want to be the best in history — one of the greatest,” linebacker Nigel Bradham told theToronto Sun. “That’s what we’re striving for … the greatest of all time, not just this year or last year.”– PFT.com"

The Buffalo defense has been on point for the past couple of years, as well as setting a new franchise record for most sacks in a year.  Can they break the long stand ’84 Bears’ record of 72? It is quite possible with who they have and what they project to do.

"Dareus has bought into everything that Ryan is selling.“We finally have a coach who will really lay it on the line for us,” he said. “I mean, Rex will make the tough calls and really put us in the position to win, regardless of whatever the stakes are. And he’s not going to be buddy-buddy. He’s like, ‘You’re a grown man and I’m going to tell it to you like it is.’ And that’s what we all need. We’re all grown men. To have somebody babying us, or somebody trying to micro-manage us — I mean, no man really wants to ever be under somebody’s thumb all the time. Rex is just that type of guy where he’s going to let you play ball, he’s going to put you in the best situations, and he’s going to do his best not to let you fail.”– PFT.com"

Finishing 4th overall last year is a strong starting point for the Buffalo Bills coming into this year and this year they have that defensive minded coach bring controlled chaos to the field.  It will be exciting to see what they defense brings to the field this year, and as they say, defense wins games.
