Buffalo Bills Who’ve Turned Heads in Offseason Workouts

"The Buffalo Bills are sporting a new look this offseason, with a new head coach in Rex Ryan and several new pieces on the offensive side of the football. Many of the pieces from last year’s 9-7 campaign are still in place, however, and this is again looking like a team that will be in the playoff hunt at season’s end. Whether or not the team can get over the hump and claim a playoff spot will likely be determined by how well the old and new pieces can mesh."

New ‘D’ could make Lawson biggest beneficiary

"Manny Lawson is returning to the role he held in Buffalo’s 2013 defense with the new scheme. If the veteran’s stats of the last two seasons are any indication both the Bills and Lawson will be big beneficiaries."

Sal’s Film Review: Greg Roman’s Power Sweep

"New Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman uses a lot of zone blocking schemes in the run game.  Here, I break down how he used the “down sweep” or “power sweep” in the 49ers week one game at Dallas last season, using two different formations after seeing how the first was blocked."

Buffalo Bills defensive end analysis: Jerry Hughes

"The Buffalo Bills have a defense that is stacked with Pro Bowl talent, causing some players to fall under the radar. However, Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes is not one of them. Since his career in Buffalo began in 2013, Hughes has put up some seriously impressive numbers. In March Hughes was re-signed to Buffalo’s roster with a five-year contract, ensuring the Bills would keep the dynamic pass rusher in 2015. Analyzing Hughes’ numbers proves how valuable he is to Buffalo’s defensive unit. Combining for 20 sacks over his two seasons with the Bills, Hughes is a threat to any offense."

Two former Bills get calls to Halls

"Two former Buffalo Bills are being inducted into a couple different Halls of Fame. Former offensive lineman Al Bemiller was announced as a member of the 2015 class of the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, while former punter Brian Moorman will be enshrined into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. Bemiller played every single game for the Bills from 1961-69 at both center and guard.  He was selected to the AFL All-Star team in 1965 and was a key member of the Bills two AFL titles in 1964 and 1965."

Sammy Watkins still rehabbing hip injury

"The Buffalo Bills have high expectations this season, but there could be a very serious problem brewing. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who dealt with an injured hip all of his rookie campaign in 2014, is still trying to recover from offseason hip surgery, according to Conor Orr of NFL.com. Watkins has stated he will return to action soon, but for now is limited to lining up for routes (and then not running them out) and stretching on the sidelines during OTA sessions."
