The Buffalo Bills have a completely different in-house look and feel with the new additions to the coaching staff which were triggered by the Doug Marrone opt out that occurred back on New Year’s Eve.

  • Rex Ryan came in and appointed his trusted staff, which included Greg Roman as offensive coordinator.  Greg Roman is coming over from the San Francisco 49ers, where he was the offensive coordinator for them for the past 3 years.

Roman was officially introduced yesterday as the teams new coordinator and immediately came out and stated that everyone on the team has a clean slate.

This could be good for EJ Manuel along with a couple of other players as well.

"“I’m not going to get into specifics,” Roman said, via the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “I think he’s done some good things and displayed some good traits. We just have to get his level of consistency a little greater. Once we get through this evaluation process, he and every player is going to have a clean slate. What they might have been asked to do in the past is really not relevant to what we may or may not ask them to do. For me to pontificate about this, that, and the other, it’s a little premature.”– Profootballtalk.com"

The Buffalo Bills have stated that they will be looking at bringing in atr least 2 to 3 other quarterbacks to compete with EJ Manuel and Jeff Tuel, the only two quarterbacks listed on the roster at this point.

With a clean slate though, Manuel will be able to have the chance to prove himself as well as show the progress that he has made, if any, after ebing benched for Kyle Orton after the 4th game of the season.

Roman also has stated that he is looking at beefing up the tight end position as well.

Roman has been known for using his tight ends in multiple sets and used in motion and in different places on the field to help get an advantage on the running game, but we also know, that Greg Roman has used his tight ends in the passing game as well.  When you have a Vernon Davis type player on your team to TE, you have to be able to utilize it.

Look for the Bills to make more than just offensive line moves this off-season.  I would not be surprised to see a couple of TEs come in that are similar to a Vernon Davis type player.
