Buffalo Bills Look To Break Streak In New England

The Buffalo Bills are out of the playoffs with a disappointing game against the Oakland Raiders.  I heard some people looking at it as a trap game.  It was.  The Buffalo Bills played great against the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos and came out strong in the first drive of the game against Oakland and just got over-confident too early too fast.

  • So the New England Patriots are next in a final December game that has no meaning for either team.  New England has clinched the top spot in the AFC playoffs with Denver’s lost on Monday night.

The New England Patriots have said that they are not going to doing anything different than that of their norm as far as sitting players go.  This means that no one will be sitting against the Buffalo Bills.

What should the Bills do against the Patriots?

With Doug Marrone at the helm, he doesn’t always seem to be looking at the big picture and just at each game, which could be a good thing at times, but in this case, looking at this game to give the Bills the best option to win might not be the way to go.  Starting Kyle Orton and the offensive line as is I personally think is the wrong way to go this week.

I would like to see the Buffalo Bills put EJ Manuel on the field.  It has been 11 games since we last saw him.  Any improvement would be a good sign and we as the fans should be able to see where he is at.  If it is still the timid check down passer or is it the take a deep shot down the field?  Has the accuracy improved? Is he smarter on his feet when running with the ball?  All these things come into play, as we watch if Manuel starts.

As far as the offensive line, I would like to see where Cyril Richardson is at left guard.  Kraig Urbik and Erik Pears just have not done it this year as far as interior lineman and it showed.  Cyril Richardson is a guard that has potential and could be the future in the middle for the Bills.  The other change I would like to see is that of Erik Pears being benched in place of Cyrus Kouandjio.  Kouandjio is a tackle, I know that, but I might be interesting to take a look at him at the guard position with Seantrel Henderson solid at the right tackle and Cordy Glenn holding up his on the left side.  Get this second round pick into the lineup and lets see where he has improved over the course of the season.  He is another that could help to solidify this line, if he got his feet into check.

At this point, these changes, I don’t think, will have a major impact on the game and it may give the Bills enough needed change to get the emotion to where they pull out a win against the New England Patriots and break the losing streak in Foxboro.

What changes would you like to see in this game, if any?
