If you love the Buffalo Bills, take a moment at some point before they kick off against the Miami Dolphins today to offer a smile, fist pump or “Lets go Buffalo” for Ralph C. Wilson, Jr.

Wilson brought the Bills to Buffalo, kept them here and established a trust focused on finding people like Terry and Kim Pegula who were interested in keeping the team in this great city.

Ever since Wilson’s trust announced its agreement to sell the team to the Pegula Family, fans have been pouring out their hearts. WGR 550 opened its lines to scores of fans willing to call in and talk about their Bills memories with their dads, their siblings and their kids. Behind the joy and tears of those phone calls was one awesome, driving idea – our collective Bills memories now have a future.

No longer do we have to worry we’ll be told to box up our memorbilia and stop buying season tickets. We can all stop wondering if our children will grow up and never have any connection to a team and sport we all loved deeply.

The Bills are staying in Buffalo. Shout it out as you drive to the grocery store this morning. Throw on your favorite jersey and give random high fives to people walking the streets. Those headed to One Bills Drive, bring the pandemonium.

The only way for this week to get any better for Bills fans is with a powerful squishing of the fish today. If that happens, Bills fans may sing and shout and not leave the stadium for hours after the game. The shout song will be loud and strong from The Big Tree Inn to Elmwood Ave and in the hearts of every Bills fan around the globe.

The Bills are staying in Buffalo. Celebrate. Smile. Go a little nuts. Don’t forget to offer a final thank you to Mr. Wilson. The Bills are our team. Today is our day.
