Buffalo Bills: Thad Lewis Released, Jordan Palmer Added

There has been no question where the Bills stand with their quarterback situation.  They are not happy with it and are looking for a major improvement in the area.

Thus far, the back-up quarterbacks have not played to the standards that Doug Marrone and company are expecting.  Dennis Dixon was one of the 11 cut yesterday to get the team roster to 75.

There were reports that the Bills were looking at ex-Bears quarterback Jordan Palmer to compete with both Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel as the back-up to EJ Manuel.  The question was if Palmer comes in who goes out?  That was answered just a little while ago.

Jordan Palmer has been signed by the Bills and will now compete for the back-up role to EJ Manuel.  Thad Lewis is the one that draws the short stick and is released to make room for Palmer.

So far in the preseason, Lewis has been anything but stellar.  He went 17 of 33 for 168 yards.  He threw 2 interceptions and no touchdowns and was sacked 3 times.  For someone that looked decent last year and had some promise, he just has not shown up.  Hopefully Jeff Tuel and Jordan Palmer can begin to provide the assurances that this Bills team is looking for.
