This past week, Sammy Watkins was hurt early on in the match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Watkins left the field holding his side and then later on went into the locker room and did not return into the game.

More from Buffalo Bills News

It has been reported that Watkins suffered a bruised rib and that it was nothing serious, but a timetable has not been set at this point to his return.

Doug Marrone commented and stated that he will not be given out timetable information because it is just too hard to predict and set backs can occur at any time.

Last year Marrone stated that EJ Manuel would be ready to play in the final game after suffering a knee injury, but Manuel never showed his face in the game.  At that point, Marrone stated that he would no longer provide information on injury returns of players.

"“Unless I know for sure, I am not going to comment on when they’re coming back or when they might come back because it’s too difficult. You have setbacks. You wake up one morning and you have this or that and then I have to stand up here and hear, ‘You told us this and you told us that.’ So, I really don’t know,” Marrone said, via the Buffalo News. “You can practice the next day sometimes. You can come back into a game. Sometimes on the X-ray it shows that it’s a crack. Sometimes it shows that it’s not and then you take a better X-ray and there is a crack. Sometimes, depending on the player, you can be out two weeks, four weeks, six weeks or two months.”– Pro Football Talk"

Sammy was seen at practice yesterday but not on the field.  He was on a stationary bike for the most part.  We will have to wait until closer to the Tampa Bay game the Bills have on Saturday to see if Watkins will be ready to return to the field.
