Happy Thursday Everyone! Here are your daily links for the Buffalo Bills.
The Buffalo Bills have a couple of position battles going on right now and one of them is the right guard position. Kraig Urbik, incumbent on the right side, has had his time split with Chris Hairston who has been the back up tackle for Cordy Glenn and missed last season due to injury. Urbik might be losing his grip on the right side to Hairston. Just another position battle to keep your eye on. [WGR 550]
Marcell Dareus has been in the news a lot lately due to his run-ins with the law and then failing his physical. He has been to Alabama to deal with the drug charges and enters a substance abuse program to get the charges dropped. He is back at practice and takes another physical today to determine if he will start practice tomorrow. Here’s hoping he can put this all behind him and start playing football. [Simcoe.com]
The weakside LB position, next to the offensive line, is going to be one of the most interesting position battles to watch. With Keith Rivers, Nigel Bradham and Preston Brown competing for 2 spots, one will play the strong side, will Marrone and company start a rookie in back to back seasons at the LB spot? The Bills had one of the most successful running games last year finishing 3rd overall. But even with that success, the Bills were not taking anything for granted. The Bills addressed the running game in the offseason by adding powerhouse Anthony Dixon and speed back Bryce Brown. This could also be the Bills looking to the future and the aging Fred Jackson, although it doesn’t look like Jackson is slowing down anytime soon. [Sports Media 101]
