For the NFL, the 2014 Season kicks off tonight for the NFL when the Buffalo Bills have the first practice under the lights tonight at 6:00PM at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, NY. It is only two short weeks away from when the Hall of Fame Game is played with the Bills and the New York Giants and that is why these two teams are already in camp.
While Buffalo’s bad news started before the 2014 season games even started when emerging star linebacker Kristian “Kiko” Alonso tore his ACL while rehabbing from off-season hip surgery. In addition, star left tackle Cordy Glenn is out day to day with an undisclosed illness according to Bills general manager Doug Whaley, here’s hoping it’s nothing serious.
Tonight will be the beginning for some expected stars like the fourth overall pick in Clemson Tigers‘ wide receiver Sammy Watkins whom the Bills gave up their first round pick in 2015 for. Also there will be people like safety Kenny Ladler who went undrafted who played his college ball for the Vanderbilt Commodores but could make the final 53 due to uncertainty at the back end of the defense.
This will also be a surreal 2014 season as this will be the first time the Bills will not be owned by Ralph C. Wilson Jr. who founded the team back in 1959 who passed away back on March 25th. While the new owner will likely not be announced until later in 2014, it will be interesting to see how the team performs this season.
All and all, the 2014 season shall be interesting for the Buffalo Bills and its players, but what do you expect out of the team this year? Who do you think will be breakout stars? How will E.J. Manuel do? Like this article, share it, and leave a comment below and we can discuss this more! Thanks for reading!
