2014 Season Expectations: Tight End Chris Gragg

Chris Gragg was a seventh round draft pick for the Buffalo Bills last year and didn’t do much as he had five catches for 53 yards and one touchdown reception and  to be kind as he was adjusting from college to the pros. What also will make more of a transition than normal is that he is a converted wide receiver and he also suffered a knee injury in his senior year and missed the last eight games of his college career.

When he participated at the scouting combine, he turned heads after putting up a 4.50 40 yard dash time which was the fastest for any tight end prospect last year. Chris Gragg is not a prototypical tight end my any stretch of the imagination as he is 6-foot-3 and 242 pounds and isn’t the most impressive blocker to say the least but can do it down the field for a running back. The best way he should be used is in the slot creating a mismatch with a slower linebacker and in this upgraded offense, he might have a shot in doing so with the firepower they have.

Chris Gragg has an uphill climb to make this team; however I have a feeling he might be able to edge Tony Moeaki as he has talent but it’s unknown if he’ll ever recover from his numerous injuries including a fractured shoulder and torn ACL to name a few. Also can he surpass Lee Smith as the team’s number two tight end whom is one of the best blocking tight ends in all of football.

All and all, Chris Gragg’s 2014 expectations should be about 10 catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns. What do you think Chris Craig will do in 2014?  Like this, share it with your friends on twitter and most of all leave a comment below and we can discuss this more and thanks for reading!

Sadly but you have lofty expectations for Gragg. As a Bills fan I have a hard time remembering any one of his lofty catches. lol.To be frank, I don’t think he’s got whatit takes to be the 4th TE on our roster. GO BILLS!!

i don’t know if Tony stays healthy enough. So Chas, is there anything on BLD you’d love to see?

It’s a hard question to answer because I don’t think Moeaki is all that good, maybe just above average. We only have one pass catching TE, Chandler. The rest are specialists in one way or another. Before we drafted Watkins, I was the biggest supporter for Ebron as a Bill. Diamonds and pearls. I did not think Whaley would trade up, he did and surprised the crap out of me. Was momentarily disappointed but reality set in. Watkins will be a HOF WR when he gets 5 years past retirement. Ebron would be a reason you would not ask that question, I think.
Fast paced, spread the ball around, rushing and passing! A very agressive offense, stare the defense down, blow them off the line of scrimmage, just beat the crap out of them as we break their collective wills. I may be sharing my fantasy but iffing was coins I would be rich. GO BILLS!!
