Scott Chandler was the leading wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills in 2013 in catches with 53 and receiving yards with 655 and also had two touchdown receptions. The likely reason why he such a great year receiving was that it the first time he played in all 16 games. Chandler is a mountain of a man being 6-foot-7 and weighing in 270 pounds, he is a huge target for E.J. Manuel with much pun intended and also is developing into an adequate blocker for the run game as well, thus enabling them to gain more yardage.
The 2014 Bills should have a stacked wide receiver corps to say the least and Scott Chandler could flourish in this scenario due to teams game planning for players like Sammy Watkins and Mike Williams by double covering them with a cornerback and safety. Linebackers struggle to cover Scott Chandler due to his immense and aforementioned size and abilities to get behind them on passing downs. Also with so many receiving targets that could be on the field at the same time, there will be no possible way that opponents will be able to line up eight or nine in the box like they have done in previous years against C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. This will also result in the possibility of the run game having yet even a better year than last year where they were second overall in the NFL rushing yards.
So what are my expectations for Scott Chandler in 2014? Provided he stays healthy again and plays in all 16 games he could have 60 catches for 750 yards and will finally break the Bills touchdown mark for Tight Ends with eight. Now how about you?
