With all of the players signed for the Buffalo Bills, Free agents and Rookies alike, the Buffalo Bills have a little bit of salary cap room to play with. They are in the top half of the league when it comes to available cap space right now. The Bills are sitting in the 14th spot right now for available cap and have $7,578,856 available. (If we add the Dareus 3.1 million on there it would be over 10).
The top spot goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars with over 28 million available and the bottom of the barrel has the Pittsburgh Steelers sitting with less than 200,000.
These numbers are a bit deceiving though on a couple of levels. The releases of some players after June 1st have not been reflective of the current space available. Pittsburgh is one of them, LaMarr Woodley was released and is still projected within their cap space, so the Steelers should rise from the ashes.
Second, teams are allowed to employ 90 players during the off-season. The current salary cap only projects the top 51 players on the team. Once the season starts the 53 player roster, practice squads and injured reserve will count against the cap. So, this is still a good idea as to where the Bills stand and what they will have come the regular season.
The Bills have some money to play with and there are a couple of viable options out there for the defensive line, based on recent event from two players, they could make a move if the wanted to. Just saying.
