The HBO series, Hard Knocks, is a reality TV series that shows behind the scenes looks at NFL teams and the ways that they get ready for the regular season.  The series started in 2001 and since then there have been 8 seasons of the reality series.  Of the 8 seasons, there have been 6 teams that have been showcased on Hard Knocks.  The teams that have participated so far are the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys x2, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals x2, New York Jets, and the Miami Dolphins.

There has not been any volunteer teams that have stepped up to allow the HBO production cameras behind the scenes during their preseason.  There is a volun-told (voluntarily told) group of teams that will be picked if no one comes forward.  The Buffalo Bills are one of these 8 teams that are on a short list of possible options.

The Bills, along with the Cardinals, Bears, Jags, Giants, Raiders, Rams, and Steelers are your short list of teams.

The teams have to fall into 3 categories to be eligible for the series and your Buffalo Bills do.

Eligibility Requirements:

1 – They do not have a new head coach
2 – They haven’t made the playoffs in the last two years
3 – They haven’t participated in the series in the previous 10 seasons

If the Bills are the team selected, we would see how the Bills conduct business behind the scenes with information such as how the team and players handle cuts and the coaches talking about players and how they will handle situations.  We could see contract negotiations as well as health issues for some players as well as possible transactions that the team may have.  As for any reality TV series it has its ups and downs. Currently, Buffalo has a player on their team that has gone through the Hard Knocks reality show once already. Chris Hogan was nicknamed, by Reggie Bush, 7-Eleven, because he was always open. This happened back when the Dolphins were featured on the Hard Knocks show back in 2012.

As of right now, Jeff Fisher, head coach for the Rams, has stated that it is “highly unlikely” that the Rams will be part of the Hard Knocks group this year.  They have already thwarted one documentary series based on Michael Sam, that the Oprah Winfrey Network was set on putting together, can they do it a second time.  If that is the case, Buffalo moves to a 1 in 7 chance of being selected.
