2014 NFl Draft: Buffalo Bills 3rd Round Pick

This round seemed to be the most uneventful for the Bills to this point in the 2014 NFL Draft.  In the first two rounds the Buffalo Bills have made trades with both of their picks.

With the 73rd pick, the Bills selected Preston Brown, LB, Louisville.

I am sure this pick is strictly for depth at the linebacker position.  With Alonso, Lawson, Rivers, Spikes, and Bradham at this point.  Brown will be competing for a spot on this team right off the bat.

Brown is the 4th ranked inside linebacker in this draft and ran a 4078 40 at the combine.  He had 23 reps on the bench press and has a 33 vertical.

Outstanding size. Physical tackler. Steps downhilll and attacks the run with the proper shoulder. Good eyes and instincts. Delivers some pop on contact and strikes with force. Experienced three-year starter. Good football intelligence — makes the calls and lines up a defense. Has large hands and a big wing span for his size.
