Johnny Manziel might be too much to resist if available.

How High Should the Bills draft a QB

Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles.  If any of these quarterbacks fell to number 9, should the Bills draft them?  Yes, there are more pressing needs on the Buffalo Bills roster, but Quarterback is still a position that stands out.  Say what you want about E.J. Manuel, but if he’s going to be the next franchise quarterback, he could definitely use a viable backup.

Thad Lewis was a practice squad quarterback, who was only resigned after Kevin Kolb went down for the season.  Jeff Tuel likely made the roster due to the same situation.  If the Bills nab a quarterback in round 1 or 2, chances are slim that either of the two would make the roster.

This team needs a quarterback.  Unless they’re able to snag a high caliber player like Khalil Mack, I would respect the decision to take a quarterback with their first draft pick.  If not for a capable backup, then they should draft a quarterback early to give E.J. Manuel some healthy competition.  I believe the three above mentioned quarterbacks to have a bright future in the NFL.  If Doug Marone and Nathaniel Hacket are able to get their hands on one of them, the results could be exactly what Bills fans desire:  strong quarterback play.

Let’s face it.  The last consistent quarterback play this franchise had, came from Drew Bledsoe.    E.J. Manuel could still be the future of this franchise, but when there’s plenty of capable talent in the first round, why not roll the dice?
