Yesterday the Buffalo Bills stated that they re-signed three of their players from last year.
The three players were all Exclusive Rights Free Agents (ERFA). An ERFA is a player whose contract has expired and has three or fewer tenured years in the league. His original team must make a contract offer by the league imposed deadline or the player becomes an unrestricted free agent. No compensation is awarded for losing EFAs.
Buffalo tendered offers to these players a little bit into the free agent market. All three came back yesterday and agreed to terms. The players that were re-signed were FB Frank Summers, WR Chris Hogan, and OL Antoine McClain.
Both Summer and Hogan were productive parts of the Buffalo Bills last year. Hogan had 10 catches for 83 yards and Summer recorded his first career touchdown on 12 carries totaling 46 yards. Antoine McClain was signed to the Bills after being released by the Raiders and spent the season on their practice squad. At 6’5 336# McClain does have the size to make it in this league. He could be a good addition to the OL squad that seems to fight through injuries throughout the season.
Stayed tuned tonight for the NFL schedule to be announced at 8 pm. We will have it right here on BLD when it is released.
